As a Puerto Rican, I am extremely proud of those who excel not only in my country but also of those who shine bright outside of my little island. During NYFW two of our biggest fashion stars showed the world what Puerto Rican fashion was all about: Stella Nolasco and Luis Antonio. During New York Fashion Week 2014 one designer really stood out: Stella Nolasco. Her collection titled The Saint of my Devotion, featured an array of textures and fabrics that captured the essence of spring and summer in Puerto Rico. As a Puerto Rican, born and raised in the island, I can testify to the fact that spring in Puerto Rico is all about bright colors, sheer fabrics and lace. Stella brought all these factors and combined them to create one beautiful collection. The show, produced by PR giant Kelly Cutrone from Peoples Revolution, went as seamless and flawless as one would expect! The ready to wear pieces had me dreaming of clear sexy nights in Old San Juan, and the gowns were perfect in every way. Each piece hugged the model’s body in all the right places and I can only assume that it will be the same on the client’s body.As piece after piece came down the runway I was left wanting them all! The Lincoln Center was left screaming for more as where fashionistas all around the world. I will definitely love to visit her atelier soon to see this gorgeous pieces first hand! It was definitely my favorite collection of all and I am so proud that it was done by a Puerto Rican! Good Job Stella! The Striped Complex is proud of you! Here are a some of my favorite pieces of the collection and a video to show you just how beautiful it all came together! Enjoy!
The blue jumpsuit on the right was my FAVORITE piece of the collection!
